Beautiful Death

A day in fall, just like another,
I stepped out in the gloomy weather,
To stroll around and catch a breath of air!

I passed by the churchyard on my way,
And I thought of death as ugly and wrinkled,
The pall, of all white and morbid,
But,  stepped in the graveyard, reluctantly,
To pray for the resting holy souls!

Surprised to see the colourful palls,
And the beautiful carpets,
Spread over the graves, on the ground, and all around,
Woven from the strings of colourful leaves,
In patterns of different sizes, shapes, and shades!

Turned to look around, above, and beyond,
At the fallen colourful leaves and the swaying beautiful trees,
Only, to realize that I have never seen the pall so colourful,
And I never thought that death could be so pleasant and beautiful!
