Was that You?

When the winds started breathing cold,
When the trees shed their green summer coat,
When the ground crawled under the blanket of ice,
When the geese flee to the southern site.

As the stars started to show-up early, dazzling bright,
I retreat by the side of the hearth to huddle tight,
Just when I was about to drown into my bed and call it a night,
I heard a noise coming off the corner, out of my sight.

I looked through the blurry window panes,
With my half-opened bleary eyes,
And found someone’s foot prints,
Sunk into the snow covered floor,
Just when I thought it was over,
And you remember me no more,
Was that you who passed by my door..?
