Untold Secrets

The way the streets look, all covered in rain,
Reminds her of the things she’s been through
And she bursts into tears next to her mother
In the car on the way to school.

It’s crazy how one person
One little but strong person
Can have endured so much pain
In only a matter of fifteen years.

She could talk about it, could tell people,
But she is so ashamed by things
She was forced to do that she won’t;
She will hold her secrets to her last breath.
