Observation
Once upon a time
They were kids too
Left to figure out life
And what to do
They made mistakes
One after another
Two teenagers
Now a father and mother
They try to break cycles
That came before them
Just doing their best
For their two small children
As one of those children
I have to say
They did a good job
I turned out okay
No parent is perfect
I’ve come to see
A mother myself
Being the best I can be
I learned it from you
All I the things that you did
As I Closely watched
When I was a kid
It seemed to pay off
All the good and the bad
Lessons on life
I learned from my mom and my dad
