Heavy Winter

Winter pushes on, weighing me down with all of its heavy snow.
A glimpse of spring is on the horizon only to be clouded with another downfall of flurries.
The white storm consumes the land and I can no longer see.
A frozen wasteland is where I am, but I feel more is coming for me.
I’m losing my grip as the ice numbs my hands, when will I get to see spring again?
The tundra pushes and pulls me along as if I am not greater than a single flake.
How heavy is this snow, how cold is this air, no longer can I tell.
No sun in sight, I think spring is afraid of the bitter winter.
But at long last the cold snow begins to wane and fade into the day.
My frigid season is coming to a close and now I can feel the sun again.
Here is the warmth and glory of spring, a time for new beginnings and a time to live again.
