An Empty Home

A soldier doesn’t pray for war in a time of need, a soldier prays for peace because of all he has seen.
One is scarred, battered, and bruised during his time at war, As our friends around us hit the ground, we see their souls soar.
Fighting through endless days and nights is all he is trained to do, one barely sleeps but grows accustomed to it, because the nightmarish dreams are all to true.
People see it in us, how a war can make us change, from the once jubilant young child you knew, to the ones who’s mind wanders far away.
So don’t take for granted the things you have at home, just remember there were those souls who gave it all, and left a family/spouse, all alone...
