" At Home In The Darkness "

“At Home In The Darkness ”

It’s cold here in the shadows, where sunlight never shines,
I slip deeper into darkness, a life amongst the blind.
Sliding thru the silt, along earths cold wet floor.
Slowly disappearing, till I’m am there no more.
And there I lay so silent, reality slips away,
If you watched it was so violent, my stages of decay.
Burial before death, never could I wait,
Told to many times, for my own funeral I’d be late.
I guess they were wrong, there kind and what they know.
And though I may still breath, I’ve been dead so long ago.
Beggars and hangers on, surround me in the night.
Away from all that lives, away from any light.
Won’t be very long, not unlike a vampires kiss.
Falling ever farther, into this dark abyss.
