" Desperation "

“ Desperation ”

She felt as empty as her murders heart,
And alone as his next victim .

Left in his cellar she cries .
We’re ones families thoughts will never reach them .

How many before Her have felt the dampness of this place?
And the darkness were shadows fail to fall .

Upstairs, still he moves around,
Each footstep she hears them all .

Back and forth across the floor,
Into an ever increasing frenzy .

There was nothing when she had looked into his eyes,
Both were black and empty .

The moon returns to the sky, from Beneath a vail of clouds .
The dimmest of light creeps into the cellar,
His victim looks around .

And at that moment his footsteps cease,
Just outside the cellar door .
She backs herself into the darkness,
While whispering God please no more .

That prayer to her is never to come,
Nor is another day .
And as the moon slides behind the clouds,
Her life is taken away .
