He waits in the darkness

To lisa lingman

He waits in the darkness,
For she is his light .
And though there hearts have mingled,
The time is yet right.
His darkness is lonely,
Her light bright as day .
His thoughts always racing,
Will this light go away?
He’s shared surface feelings,
That he’s peeled from his heart .
But he knew this ones special,
Yes right from there start .
She sees that he’s searching,
For someone to hold .
And some light in his darkness,
Before he grows old .
He wants so to tell her,
The feelings he guards .
But trusting completely,
To him is quite hard .
Each day inside him,
The most alien of sounds .
The loosening of mortar,
As each brick strikes the ground .
And into his darkness,
Her light slowly creeps .
This beauty overtakes him,
Her light makes him weep.
And then in that instant,
He finally knew .
He will never deny,
This light that is you .
