ILL Fame

Verse 1: Half-way across the world in a box are my dreams. At least that’s how I feel when I’m facing reality. I know that not everyone can win, and I barely put up a fight. But nothing makes me feel more at home than center stage, and a mic.

Chorus: Singing in my room’s not enough when every page in my journal turns into a song, that replays, for days, and get’s stuck in my mind.
Yeah I know it’s not to late to stop giving up, but talent scouts have made it clear it’s all about “the look”. Promoting, and coating yourself to what the media wants.

And faking an image is the way to fame. The music business is the worst business, that’s what they say.Waiting on decisions your label makes is a guessing game.
And they want you to perform your song under a different name.
And I had to quit cause I got too sick on the way to ill fame.

Verse 2: Sometimes I wanna travel the world to find my box of dreams. But I remember I’m not tough enough to here someone criticize me. And I know people say, “don’t let them bring you down.” But I let them get under my skin and fall flat on the ground.

Chorus: Singing in my room’s not enough when every page in my journal turns into a song, that replays, for days, and get’s stuck in my mind.

Bridge: Ill fame is what the pop-stars are these days(x2)
If you want your name in lights, you gotta have the thick skin.
And even if you got a pretty voice, not everybody’s cut out for this.

(Key change) And faking an image is the way to fame. The music business is the worst business, that’s what they say.Waiting on decisions your label makes is a guessing game.
And they want you to perform your song under a different name.
And I had to quit cause I got too sick– on the way to ill fame.
