My Quest

Searching for you

I have searched for you
In the dark of the night
In the effulgence of the day
In the remotest corners of the universe
In the stardust of countless nebulae
In the depths of the ocean
In the shallowness of the crowd
In the music of my favourite songs
In the chords of Beethoven
In the morbidity of death
In the vivacity of life
In the purpose of my meaning.

In the snowcapped mountains
In the crystal clear fountains
In the nuclei of atoms
In the sanctum sanctorum of temples
In the Holy Grail of the church
In the dargah of the Mohammed
In the synagogue, In the Gurudwara
In the deities of a million gods
In the sweetest pea pods
In the raindrops of the first monsoon shower
In the exuberant smile of an innocent flower
In the unbridled joy of uncorrupted infancy
In the hotness of solar flares
In the avalanches of unnamed glaciers
In the deepest crevices of the moon
In the gory redness of Mars
In the airlessness of Mercury
In the farthest reaches of space and time.

In the deepest pockets of my darkest dreams
In the immaculate brightness of blinding sunbeams.

Lo! I find you in the heartbeats of soul!
Come, my love, and make me whole.
