An Unusual Disease
The type of disease that eats at my soul
possessing a firm grip on my heart
love does not want to lurk here
An unusual disease that takes me
on a roller coaster ride
of pain and sadness
A disease no one heard of,
A disease so far gone and out of control
A stillness in my body, stiff like cold fingers
living in pain
My mind erratic
searching for some sanity
only to end up in locations
where skeptical minds lurk
where pain is left to grow
sorrow will continue tomorrow
a heartless body is abandoned
left to dwell in loneliness
without hope or assurance
that she will live to love again
or to simply love to live.
