Romeo, Juliet and the Headless Clown Watching From the Shadows of Public Restrooms They Secretly Visited Together

To the creeper in all of us

I could buy myself a butcher knife
And find out where you’re sleeping
And with calculated movements
Carve out secrets that you’re keeping.
I could break into your homestead;
I would surely rob you blind.
But there’s better profit in your
Organs, polished up and shined.
With the steel upon the cutting board
I’ll separate your parts.
I’ll smear your bright remains
Into a lovely work of art.
I’ll put a pair of mismatched hands
Where your eyes used to be
So you can utilize your talent
To grab everything you see.
Your eyes I’ll place in earrings,
Your face I’ll split in two
So that everyone can see each side
Of everything you do.
I’ll keep your feet for sniffing,
I’ll keep your lips for kissing.
In the end you’ll be so defiled
You won’t know what parts you’re missing.
Lovingly I will shave you
Of your hair and of your skin,
And in the end I’ll be you
From without and from within.
We’ll plaster our remains
For the rest of the world to see.
And when it’s finally finished...
Oh how beautiful we’ll be.

(2012)

Let me just start out by saying that I have a dark sense of humor, and that I also find great joy in offending the easily offended. I had originally intended to write a children's poetry book, but when I wrote this I looked back on several of my poems and realized that this might not be the best idea. In any case, I found this poem hilarious, as well as insulting to whom it was in part personally intended.
