What I want for my children

An expression of past, present, and the hopeful future

I know that I am a child myself, barely pushed into the cusp of the world, not knowing where I am going in life

I have grown up in a world where terrorism reigns

Where racism is a common thing

Where hatred is as prominent as anything else

I grew up in the 2000's, not the 1960's

What I want for my child, many years from now, is that they are free

No matter what sexuality, gender, racial makeup

I want them to grow up in a world where they can fall in love, and have that love recognized, and to have the same benefits as any other couple

For them to have the ability to choose their gender, and feel okay to be open about and not get beat up for it

If they are a girl, for them to get payed the same, not be cat called, not to be ridiculed for their promiscuity, outfits, life choices

I want them to never be afraid to show who their father is. I’m Caucasian, but my husband or wife may not be. If their father is a P.O.C. they should embrace that, not be afraid

I want my children to live with love, freedom, equality

I want my children to live the lives none of the people before them have
