Restraint lingers in intent

Heaven showers its bliss
upon people made whole,
and the unity of two souls
encode an innocent embrace with desires
that reality cannot fulfill.

As restraint lingers in intent,
true beauty is found
in what we don’t express,
as much as in what we do.
Satisfied with what is given,
but more so by what is denied.

Progression is stalled
and determined invalid,
as standing inert
creates movement within its own stillness.
Loud shouts in silence,
and everything is felt
as all there can be.

What moves between us
moves the world.
What makes every breath unique
is how its binds us all
to our own mortality.

Deep down inside we know
nothing lasts forever,
not even dreams.
The realisation beats in my chest
invigorated
by feeling it beat afresh
within yours.

All coming-togethers
balance their separations
and it is in this dance
we find meaning
when a wider focus
reveals there is none.

As much as we may suffer
we are all glad to be a part
of the changing tides,
and we surrender gladly
to drown in an ocean of contentment.

The waves created by your touch
overwhelm me
and I sink to the bottom,
smiling and happy.
