Fathers

2015

Fathers

Woke up in darkness today wondering if you were still here.
Walked to the light and stumbled and rubbed my eyes clear.
Only a few things left scattered letting me know you were still near.
Rembered some things you had shown me to keep me from fear.

Following your words I left clean and ready to start my day.
Stepped forward only to step back I had forgotten to pray.
Now I think I am ready to sit down and eat.
Remembered your instruction followed it to every beat.

Played all day and hummed a tune as the day went by.
Remembered some things you told me to keep me occupied.
Build them and watched them to every word you had said.
Showed them and smiled like a child that had just been fed.

I am glad you had taught me those things before you had gone away.
I would be so bored with really nothing to say.
Could not wait to hear from you again. Let me share what I feel.
Decided to teach what was given to those that were real.

Cared and loved them so much I wanted to show you.
Clenched treasures in tiny fists held high waiting to give you.
Almost asleep gazing all around wondering when I will not be alone.
Waiting for you. Waiting for you. To take me home.

Fully awaken now when I finally here your booming voice!
I jump up and cry out your name making lots of noise!
Your presence made me cry with joy, i smiled, and we laughed!
I grabbed your hand and we looked at all your well taught craft!

Together we had made so much. I showed them what your word meant.
You nodded and said well done, my good and faithful servant.
I tried to show them how to please you rather then please us.
I smiled and paused a moment. Thank you father. Jesus.
