Vikings, Killers and You and Me
What do we learn from the past and the "now?"
Were the Vikings always vicious? Were the Mongols so malicious?
And Crusaders merely noble soldiers? Was the crucifix their chalice?
Were the Salem villagers those with more religious virtue?
Are the Huns and the Hell’s angels also peoples in disguise?
Are the courses they pursue just another Satan’s guise?
Are more persons now psychotic? Or are you and I neurotic?
Are the times more so a changing– and is Satan rearranging?
Are the crimes now more horrific? Or was the then just as terrific?
Are the methods we employ bring the pain that some enjoy?
Does the tide of change just make us cringe,
so that suicide is painless deep within.
Can we force the Cop to kill us and deprive him of his love?
Can we shoot our way to glory thanking god way up above?
Are the answers in the questions, do we choose them not to see;
That the answers are right here with us…
they belong to you and me.
