Accepting

In the realm where enmity’s seeds are sown,
A heart, once warm, turns cold as stone.
Yet in this frost, a truth is bred,
A lesson learned, a path to tread.

Animosity sharp sting may pierce the night,
But will not dim love’s gentle path of light.
For in the face of that has been shown,
One finds strength in what became known.

To those who disdain, I bear no ill,
Your words, your spitefulness, can’t break my will.
For I have learned to stand alone,
In the chilling wind, my resolve has grown.

I wear their scorn, confidently like a crown,
Their ways cannot push or pull me down.
For in its grip, I’ve found my way,
A beacon bright on the darkest day.

I’ve learned to play in the pouring rain,
To find joy amidst the pain.
For every wound will heal through time and lessons,
My memories will pass away, forgiving their transgressions.

So let them have resentment, hopefully they shall see,
What they have done has allowed me to be set free.
For in the end, it’s love I choose,
With nothing gained and nothing to lose.

In the faces and words of enmity, I find my worth,
A purpose found, a new lesson with a rebirth.
Out of the ashes I will arise and fly away,
Unbroken, unbowed, come what may.
