Onward

In the quiet of the dawn, thoughts of you arise,
Not of reunion, but memories that never die.
Dreams of you and yours, in the night’s embrace,
A family lost, a presence erased.

From daily whispers to silence profound,
No words returned, no solace found.
Why must love’s end sever every thread?
A support vanished, a connection dead.

Acknowledging the truth, we weren’t meant to be,
Compromises unmet, a future we couldn’t see.
You sought yourself, and I stood aside,
Yet in your journey, why must I hide?

We were more than fleeting, more than brief,
Engaged hearts, now submerged in grief.
Dismissed, forgotten, as if never there,
A chapter closed, in the book of despair.

But life’s pages turn, and this I know,
Feelings will fade, and new bonds will grow.
For now, I’ll embrace the pain, let emotions flow,
Wishing you well, as onward I go.
