The Sphere of Aureate

In the early morning, I embarked on my daily walk.
The sun had yet to rise, and the moon had already vanished.
As I opened my house door, unaware of what the day would bring,
I was greeted not by the familiar sight of my front yard,
but by a sudden bright light from the sky revealing a golden orb,
a sphere, replacing the doorway.

It felt as if my front door had transformed into a portal to
another realm. The sphere descended and positioned itself before
me. A voice whispered, audible only to me, “I am The Sphere of Aureate,
heed my words and you will comprehend.” Fear rippled through me,
wondering why such a miraculous entity had appeared seemingly from
the heavens or the universe itself.

“Why should I listen?” I questioned. “You must let go of your pride!”
the sphere retorted, “Did you not hear my words?” With a humble heart
and open mind, I bowed before the sphere. “Now, you are deemed worthy
to enter,” it declared. My eyes widened in awe at the sight of a
grand library, a golden gateway to an endless collection of books,
papers, and scrolls beyond count.

As I stepped in, I felt no air, no ability to breathe.
The Sphere seemed to pose a threat to my life! “Fear not,
I will not harm you, one breath is all you need,” it assured.
So I did, and all fears of losing my life dissipated. “You can
speak here without a breath, do you have questions? For I already
know them.”

“If you already know them, why not answer them?” I queried.
“Remember, pride precedes a fall,” the Sphere reminded, “ask me.”
My first question was, “What are you?” Anticipating my question,
The Sphere responded, “I am The Sphere Of the Aureate! I preside
over all that you see, the endless corridors, the vast expanse of
universal information, as you can clearly see. I am the past,
the present, and the future.”

I pondered within myself, “Then why am I here?” The all-knowing Sphere
answered, “You are here for a purpose, to acquire the knowledge and
wisdom of all ages, ions, and the span of time that has existed,
yet does not. You have been chosen to read and write what is bestowed
upon you. All of this is yours yet not. It all belongs to a Great Being
who created everything– the universe, myself, and even you.
He requires you to read, learn, and write so others may understand.”

I wondered, “Who am I to undertake such a task?” The Sphere Of Aureate
assured, “Follow me and your understanding will commence.” I followed
the floating Sphere through many corridors. “Ah,” said The Sphere,
“Time is infinite here, unless the lifespan of one chosen to study and
write by the Great Being comes to an end. It is the Great Being who has
granted you this endless time, this library, and study. To learn and
write what will be given to you over time.”

I worried about sustenance. The Sphere Of Aureate, prepared with an answer,
reassured, “You gained breath without breathing, why worry about sustenance?
The words you will read and write are your sustenance, you will live for
eternity if you trust in this... Here is a desk.” A desk of grand design
materialized, not made by hands, not of wood or stone, but of light that
existed throughout time. I wondered where I was to sit and what I was
to write with.

The Sphere Of Aureate, knowing my thoughts, said, “Here is a chair, sit
and know that it exists!” A chair materialized, again made of light and
not by hands. Upon the desk appeared a feather shaped like a pen,
without ink. I sat in the chair, experiencing a comfort unlike any before.
Grasping the feather, I wondered what to write upon. The Sphere said,
“Here is a tapestry, not woven by hands, but by the great designer.
With this, you shall inscribe the knowledge and wisdom bestowed upon
you by the Great Being, take delight for all of them will be imprinted
within your mind...”

Without conscious thought, words flooded my mind, filling the tapestry
with words unseen before or since. The Sphere Of Aureate levitated
above me. “You shall now walk and read at your leisure, return and more
words will be granted with much leisure.” So I stood and walked, reading
endlessly, for there is no end, no time here. I oscillated between reading
and writing, the tapestry never ending, allowing the wondrous words given
to me by the Great Being to flow. The Sphere Of Aureate was always there,
guiding me and directing me to places I sought.

Days turned into years, years into decades, and decades into millennia.
The studying never ceased, the writing never ended. The tapestry showed
that it never ended, but always remained the same length. Finally, after
such time had passed, I walked into a corridor where the books, papers,
and scrolls were guarded by glass. I looked inside, and suddenly, I
noticed I had aged. My youth was gone, my hair had grayed, wrinkles
had formed. I looked down and my hands were the same. “Is it my time
to end this odyssey of study?” I asked.

The Sphere Of Aureate, with its golden light shining, blinding me
like never before, took me and said, "Yes, it is time. Another has
been chosen to take your place. You have been a wonderful example
and your place here will be remembered, not by me, but by the Great Being.
They have told me it is time for you to enter the door to the universe
and there you will be dispersed, every atom and molecule of you will
become part of the universe and exist forevermore.

A grand and mighty door appeared before me, opening for me.
I looked out and saw the cosmos, a sight of beauty I had never seen before.
Warmth filled my body. The Sphere Of Aureate spoke to me for the last time,
“You have been strong and full of courage, you are able with all you have
gained to become part of the universe. Without worries, without feeling
cold or hot, never to worry about sustenance like here. You will never
return to this place, yet you will always exist here for what you have done.”
As I finished listening, I walked through the door, disappearing and becoming
part of the universe, knowing all from the past to the future and beyond.
Always to exist, yet not have a form. My task was complete and my place in
the universe was my own peace. “Farewell,” said The Sphere Of Aureate,
“Everything you have done, will be read. Well done, you deserve eternity...”
