Poetic World

Someone said my words are like a lullaby.

S.M.I.L.E

I say my words are my spiritual lifeline.

To all the people in the world,

I say each individual is an amazing star.

It is up to self to reach our own potential.

Folks chatter

but only real people speak.

Some say I am too big.

Some say my writing ain’t shit.

I say the hell with them.

Because for those that are kind to me and others,

You are what in this world matters.

Clap, clap

a round of applause to those that can spiritually grow,

Clap, clap

a round of applause to the single moms and dads.

Clap, clap

A round of applause to all the two parent homes that are holding it down.

My life full of poetic chapters,

Each page turned is an accomplishment.

Enemy your animosity is burned.

Up in flames go your hellish ways.

Watch me smile.

You can’t hold this pretty girl down.

My children are the biggest treasure my Lord has gave.

I thank The Lord to those that protect and serve.

My hats off to those that choose to educate.

People if we all learn to love,

How it would be such a beautiful poetic world.

(2013)

I wrote this poem just the other day. With the current events taking place and people being people. I was frustrated about those dwelling on such petty things in life. Some people wonder how one attains their house, car and other things. Others dwell in yesterdays and never thanking God to acknowledge waking up today. I am a person who wishes the best for everyone and if we would just do the same--"what a beautiful poetic world," it would be. Agree?
