Anger

Once the anger builds
A raging river flows
And begins to explode
Through a dense wall
That once held it all together

A deep depression wallows over the soul
And in the end it’s like you had no control
But do you feel remorse
Now that you have gotten off the course?
Isn’t the damage you’ve done enough?
Repeating over again the same old stuff
But you let it go on
You pretend to be strong
You know it’s all wrong
But you try and hold on
To just let go seems too easy
And your pride won’t let you let it go
Giving up and giving in
Seems to be some kind of sin
But to keep going on like this
Tell me who will win

Your hand is on the door
Convincing yourself you won’t do this anymore
The wind blows cold
Memories are all that you hold
You feel a deception as you hear your life being told
Block out the sun and run into the night
You refuse to argue and fight
Because you know it is all in spite

A raging river flows
And begins to explode
Through a dense wall
That once held it all together.

Another poem I wrote in high school about my mother after one of her many angry episodes.
