Freedom
What is freedom meant to be?
Free from what
From you and from me
From ourselves or what we can be
Freedom reflects a peaceful time
A bird on a vine
A dove of pure white
A silhouette at night
A picture so perfect
Nothing you can not see
Yet freedom has bound me to this place
To work, to walk, to be this way
Society accepts only what they see
Therefore I am not free
Even of the religion I choose to be
Will I ever be free of society?
Will I ever be able to be what I want to be?
And people will just accept me for me
Everybody setting down rules
Do this, talk like this, walk like this, dress this way, work here
Believe what I believe
Spread god’s word
But everywhere I turn they are telling me something different
So whose version should I listen to?
All they keep saying is do what I do
Practice the bible
Old Testament, new testament
First book, second book
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John
I’m tired of it all
I will believe what I know
Freedom will exist
If I just don’t care
And take a stand
Give people a helping hand
One for all and all for one
God gave us his only son
The only freedom I see
Is the one guiding me
The only freedom that nobody can see
Freedom is what you want it to be
My freedom is god eternally
