Faulty
I grew up in
a house built in
1937
long before codes and regulations
and sometimes
a fuse or two might blow
or something wouldn’t work quite right
but we always blamed it
on faulty wiring
and set to work righting
what was wrong
I was born in
a hospital in
1995
much like most babies born that year
and I grew up like them too
but sometimes
a few fuses might blow
and I may not function just right
which they always blame
on faulty wiring
that they say was wrong
from the start but
they just don’t know
how to right
what is wrong with me
