Fire Of Your Soul

From conversations with Rumi

Read slowly, savor every word

Softly, as a petal from a dogwood tree
Alights upon calm pond waters,
My fingers land upon your skin
And set alight your soul.

Gently, as a midday cooling breeze
caresses calm pond waters,
I press my lips against your skin
And drink the fire that is your soul.

Tenderly, as a butterfly’s wings
Reflect in calm pond waters,
My hair will brush against your skin
As my soul reflects your soul.
