What does the wind taste like?

The wind–
A finicky rush
That has to be somewhere else
All the time.
The faint echoes of summer
Drift along in the wind
And bring sweet and bitter memories;
A kaleidoscope of nostalgia.
The wind
Carries the quietest blossoms
With the most gentle of the songbirds
Which sings a song of love and beauty.
The wind
Brings that song
Across the horizons
To plant its seeds
And grow into a magnificent symphony.
The wind
Carries restless souls to their destinations
And perseveres onward,
Looking for more lost creatures to bring back home.
The wind
Floats the scent of a meal made from scratch
Gently down to someone
Who needed to know
That someone out there
Still cared, and put the effort in
To provide for them.
Even though they may be miles apart,
The taste of the wind
Can bring them home.

Sometimes all you need is the reassurance, however small or meaningless to others, that someone still remembers you.
