Poem: Tears
the funny thing about tears
is how powerful they are
the tears sliding down my face
signal an apology to you
for the emotional hurt I’ve given.
the funny thing about tears
is how i wish i wouldn’t cry
because then i would know
if we can work out these damned arguments
and I would apologize instead without fear.
the funny thing about tears
is the way they affect us
the way they make us feel
and what we say
is really a different light.
the funny thing about tears
is that they leave us unsure
about our real true feelings inside .
the funny thing about tears
is that i can’t make them stop.
