My name is Kamu, but names only stay important in the physical world. I am a writer, a poet, a photographer, and an artist. I am a person in this world, that just wants to contribute to all the creative energy in this world. Hoping that my poems will inspire and positively affect people, to let them wander into the deeper side of their life, to pull out the words from their thoughts, and creatively place them into reality. In my journey through life, I am constantly being awakened into someone else's imagination, and I share my thoughts and reflect upon theirs, being inspired to write from ideas that we have all put out together, sharing the images and emotions that come from our complex human minds. To me, questions are the most important thing of all. The art of questioning all and having theories and trying to fill out the unknown seems to be one of my greatest fascinations. I love thinking about things that stay a mystery in this world. It is what inspires me to write. Writing is a way for me to express in a way that is unavailable in any other form of art, or on a greater scale, life. I hope you enjoy what I am trying to express, and I hope to be inspired by your creativity as well. Thank you.

I write 'Down to Earth' Poems about things that I see everyday. My poems can be taken in any way though I find my inspiration stems from reading about World Problems and Social differences. My ideas are fueled from daily disappointments over-hearing or reading about unnecessary Social categorizations like Race, Ethnicity, Class, Gender, Sexual Orientation and the Public Self. I write to bring light upon a conforming Society with many faults. I want change.
I was born on Long Island and have lived here all my life. I love the suburban towns and the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. I am married, have 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, 3 stepchildren, and a total of 6 grandchildren. I write poetry, short fiction, personal essay, and memoir and am in the process of creating a style of mixed media art in which I can incorporate my poems. I enjoy nature walks, many forms of art, and I am obsessed with books and reading. I much prefer the solid feel of a real book though I do own and read books on my kindle e-reader. I also enjoy cooking and gardening. I consider myself an earthy and spiritual woman. I work full time as an Assistant Principal in a special education preschool. I love my work and the staff I supervise is amazing in the warmth and dedication. It's a pleasant and friendly place to spend many hours a day. That said, I eagerly await retirement when I can write full time. I blog at www.amarriageofpoetryandart.blogspot.com and at www.reneeiswriting.blogspot.com My first collection of poetry has just been published and is available at amazon.com. The title is: "I am My Mother's Only Poem."

Hello Poeticous! I am a published author (yay, I did it) and published my first book of poetry this past month (April 2013). It is titled, Woman Steps In Poetry and Prose, and is available on Amazon. To make ends meet, I am a freelance copywriter. I write poems, and fiction, that cater to women. My aim is to make readers laugh, heal, or feel empowered. I aspire to receive an MFA in the near future with a concentration in poetry and screenwriting. I am currently fast at work on a YA novelette and my next poetry collection. I hope to discover new poetic voices on Poeticous!
My name is Keya Reed. I am a dark poetry and horror story writer. My journey in writing poetry began at the early age of 8. I started writing my own lyrics. I still write lyrics today but I have expanded into other areas of writing which are poetry and short stories. Most of my work you can find on my website which is https://www.wickedmajesty.com. I currently have four YouTube channels called Wicked Majesty, The Devils Den, The Graveyard Verses, and Coffee with Cancerians. I also have two podcasts called The Devil's Den Podcast and The Tea & Terror Podcast. The Graveyard Verses channel is where I recite my poems and poetry from other dark poets. The Wicked Majesty channel is where I narrate and host horror stories, gothic tales, and creepypastas written by myself and other authors. The Devil's Den is a podcast and channel where I discuss books, poetry, stories, movies, and other topics related to the subjects of horror, true crime, and the paranormal. https://koji.to/Wickedmajesty
I was born in Edinburgh in 1948 and lived there until I was 24. My parents' rented " house" was a downstairs flat in a tenement which was built around 1690 and is now a Grade 2 listed building. When I lived there, it was a Grade 10 unlisted slum. My father was a grocer by trade and my mother cleaned richer people's houses for a living. They were loving and caring parents and I had a happy childhood. I married in 1968 and my wife, my son and myself moved to Huntingdon four years later, so I have spent two-thirds of my life in England. My second son was born in 1974. I qualified as an accountant in 1976 and spent over twenty years counting beans in various guises. In 1993, bored rigid by the work, I left the profession to set up a framing and picture gallery in a village near Huntingdon which I sold on as a going-concern ten years later, retiring in 2003. Since then I have been enjoying life, but doing very little that could be considered creative. When I turned 70 last year, for better or worse, I took to writing poetry.
Most of my writing is spontaneous, written in my free time when I feel inspired. I write both English and Spanish poems. Feel free to leave any feedback, both positive and/or negative. I try to change my styles, some are short deep poems, others are stories. Occasionally I write some that are for recitals where you can feel the emotion as I read them aloud. I hope you enjoy my pieces.
