An eerie silence
An eerie silence has descended
over the places where
constant activity once reigned.
Construction will no longer occur
now that undocumented workers
are transformed into legal targets.
Petulant desires to punish those
without any legal protections
have brought about this shutdown.
Our economy will greatly suffer
as these huddled masses
struggle to breathe free again.
