Regular Americans
When I was a kid in the 1970s
When there were two types of gas available:
Regular and Unleaded.
The Unleaded kind cost more,
So most people used Regular instead.
The Regular kind contained Lead
Which made it harmful to breathe.
Regular Americans’ health was at risk,
So Regular gas is no longer available.
Everything is now just different types of Unleaded.
When a former Speaker of the House
Calls any group of Americans “Regular”
(the ones who agree with him, naturally)
He should remember what happened with Regular gas
And find some other adjective to use.
He's said this several times and nobody ever calls him out for it. Maybe that's the real problem.
