Mink Coat

(1 Tim. 6:10)

She  walked  and  talked  so  carelessly...
picked  out  her  clothes  so  carefully.

Her  business  was  her  new  born  child,
her  husband  never  made  her  smile.

She  earned  9  figures  and  a  yacht,
the  finer  things  her  eyes  could  spot.

Diamonds,  pearls,  trips  on  boats,
then  she  was  gifted  an  expensive  mink  coat.

The  card  attached  had  a  warning  that  read;
“If  you  love  money,  you’ll  end  up  dead.” (1 Tim. 6:10)

She  laughed  it  off  and  mocked  it  too,
no  one  would  tell  her  what  to  do.

Out  of  defiance  she  wore  that  fur,
until  reality  became  a  blur.

Worn  to  board  meetings,  dinners  and  bed...
she  preferred  that  coat  over  her  spouse  instead.

She  earned  more  revenue  and  thought  the  mink  was  her  luck.....
While  driving,  reached  in  her  pocket  and  found  a  message  on  a  tag  that  was  tucked.

It  read:  “STOP!  These  ”things"  don’t  last  for  long....
but will  still  be  here,  when  you  are  gone!”

She  ripped  it  off  and  threw  it  away,
proceeded  to  text  about  her  big  pay.

She  missed  a  light  and  before  she  could  blink....

She  lied  on  that  road,  in  her  blood  stained  mink.

Here  lies  the  woman  that  did  not  take  heed....
that  evil  and  death  follow  a  soul  full  of  greed.

On  stainless  steel  hung  that  infamous  mink  coat,

And  re-attached  was  the  card,
with  that  soul  saving  note.
