North Winds

North Winds

North wind, cool my burning skin
The fire has lasted too long there-in
Summer has wrapped me in her cradle
Prepared me for long suppers at her table

She thrashed me with her scorching whips
Denied me comfort for my burning lips
Nowhere to turn to, nowhere to go
Time moved on, but moved too slow

At last I can feel thy breath on my face
I prayed that Mother Nature
Will quicken her pace
Thank you north wind,
For answering my prayer
For your mercy, your kindness,
Your refreshing air
