With My Guard Down

With My Guard Down

I bequeath myself to all the world
Its devious plans, its virtue unfurled
Here I am, a fighter without a shield
The world closing in, to all I yield

Days of valor, slipping from my grasp
Leave me with my life, is all I ask
Money and pride can still be mended
Life is too precious, shall it be ended

The world is my family, we’re in this together
Through gentle seas and stormy weather
We surge ahead with your stolen treasures
If part of me is what gives you pleasures
My guard is down, walk in and help yourself
I’m tired of fighting, I don’t care anymore
