I Am Alone (But I’ll Be Alright)

She’s got such a good heart
It just lies broken in the rain
For I left her when winter came
And we met equally in between
During the summer of '14
Only to fall apart in Spring
I never said goodbye
To say so would be a lie
So I watched her leave my sight
And disappear brilliant into the night

She’s got brown hair flowing
And emerald eyes glowing
In her love, I spend my time rowing
The boats of desire through rushing
rough seas where water stings slowly
And the depths are equal to eternity
With her skin smooth like silk
She left me in the cold rain
So I watched her leave my side
And vanish instantly out of sight

Panic men screaming through
Plastered walls we witnessed with view
My fists kissing too many walls anew
And her eyes filling with droplets of dew
She clung to me and I clung to her tight
Two dead batteries will never get it right
We never knew it was falling apart
Doctors say we were young
Some say I’m sick
But I loved her while she danced in moonlight

She’s got such a good heart
It’s just been broken too many times
Through my use of romantic rhymes
And demanding her too many times
My failure to distance myself from art
My failure to follow through on love
My failure to make sure I did my part
My failure in no higher power above
I simply lost her to the night
I am alone but I’ll be alright
