The End Of The Age Of War

It is won!
It has begun!
With the setting sun
laid low is the last gun!
And now,
the time is for fun!
Nothing shall be shunned!
For a new age is setting to swing an open door!
Rejoice!
For it is the End of the Age of War!

Time, bespectacled through eternity,
watched the killings patiently,
on the beach, in the streets, in the lonely summer heats
with brow furrowed and eyes balls aghast
wondering how such a species such as Humans can last
upon a vast expansive shore?
Children mangled in blood drenched moors?
“Rotten to the core.” Time did spake
for Time believed it was too late
And a songbird lifted and Time’s vision shifted
to a glistening ray of Hope at it finest hour
A realm within which fighting was no more
Rejoice!
For it is the End of the Age of War!

Flowers of rainbow bedazzle and line the streets!
The sun shining brightest where the land does meet
the ocean water waves of sapphire and fish leap
to and fro! To and fro! from beneath
a current of clearest liquid to greet
the rays of hope and music does play!
It plays, my friends! It plays all day!
And each grain of sand across every land proudly shouts
and each auburn tree, with smiling emerald leaves, clouts
its broad trunk and sinks deep into the soil
to no longer toil or recoil
and the growl of a chainsaw spinning and digging
at its natural skin!

The animals hold festivals in high places!
Rainforests, deserts, in the Antarctic, and cliff faces
praising the loss of the end of the fighting
that was their soundtrack of day and night hiding!

The rain tasted sweeter and richer than honey
for there was no more greed and no more money!
Lambs grazed freely through Wall Street
and Tigers lay with Komodo
and Komodo with the Buffalo
and Eagles with the Snakes
and Snakes with the Mice
and the Mice with the Cats and Dogs!

The sun shone brighter than it had ever been
and the sky was clearer than a flawless diamond!
The time had begun
with the laying low of the last gun!

Time smiled round
for the last human was dead and in the ground!
No more humans to pound the ground and shake
and fight and love and despair within the air
for there was NO ONE to care!

With the last human dead, Time sat back and breathed a sigh
For the End of The Age of War does come
When all of us die!
