Baby Toes

Single pose
Baby toes
Ringing highs
And deafening lows
Words that break
Chafe and flow
I already think
But I know you know
I’d love to have a family
One of my own
A loving partner and children
Without woe
I’d love it to be you
My partner in crime
In writer’s block rain
You become my rhyme

In the mist of fire
And the rings of dust
I know what’s real
And what is lust
A bike with no wheels
Left to rust
We can bring it back to action
Like we brought back us
Ourselves
Reaching through the mirrors to pull off our shells
The shelves
Have fallen
We are no longer neat
Though not tidy
Neither of us try to leave

Interests run stale
Scars run deep
But I’ll heal you
If you heal me
The calling is coming
And it isn’t cheap
But I will not leave
Unless you go with me
Bones can break
They can mend
Emotions can kill
Heal and bend
Trying to be more
Yet becoming less
I just want a home to call my own
What a beautiful mess

Single pose
Baby toes
Ringing highs
And deafening lows
Words that break
Chafe and flow
I already think
But I know you know
I’d love to have a family
One of my own
A loving partner and children
Without woe
I’d love it to be you
My partner in crime
In writer’s block rain
You become my rhyme

You’ve robbed me of my freedom
And stolen my heart
Yet I hold it not against you
I knew this would happen from the start
You’re so sweet
I’d love to hold
A baby made from both of us
A perfect family mold
I’m not asking you to change
I’m asking you to stay
Because I’m not going anywhere
I’m not running away
