My Strength - Mine vs Yours
You made me cry, you made me weep,
You took away my deepest sleep,
You took me down a path so steep,
But through it I am stronger.
You took my body, embraced my fear,
You held me tight, your bodies near,
My memories flash and are unclear,
But through it I am stronger.
You dashed my hopes, you crushed my dreams,
Struggling through my early teens,
Re-building myself seam by seam,
But through it I am stronger.
So everything you did to me,
You thought you hurt and damaged me,
You thought you were so big and strong,
In truth you couldn’t be more wrong.
And as you look back at what you did,
And see that I was just a kid,
You take a moment to think; recap,
And know you have to live with that.
But I am moving on with life,
The pain is gone, I’m someone’s wife,
You’re wrong if you think you damaged me,
'Cause I am stronger than you will ever be.
