Bloom

Wake to find you’re still alone
Standing naked by the phone
In a room full of strangers
Walk with your back to laughter’s
Cruel intent
Search for cover
To shield you from the sun
Rise once again
When darkness has begun
Wake with the moon
sleep with the sun
Try to forget what keeps you on the run
Your withering dry eyes
Cracked from the sun’s shade of bright
Sight to see you in the day
Might turn to dust
Blow away
Walk with your back to natures
Cruel intent
Repent your sins
In the darkest hour
Under a tree next to a flower
Rose of this earth
This flower indeed
Takes what it wants
Gets what it needs
Walk with your back to this flower’s
Cruel intent
If only this rose knew
What it meant
To love the dark and fear the light
If only this rose understood reason
She would bloom
All four seasons
Wake to the laughter
Of a flower’s nature
Under a tree indeed
Taking what it wants
Getting what it needs
