On the sidelines
The odd one out!
I never thought I’ll be
On the sidelines of life,
All I want
Is to be the star player,
To have the spotlight
Firmly fixed on me,
And have all the other players of life
Envious of me
But I’ve always
Been on the sidelines,
Simply watching from afar,
No one has really noticed me,
Even when I’m all turned up,
No one seems to care,
I have tried to grab the attention
Of those I have my eyes on,
But nothing has come to pass
I believe there is nothing
Permanent except change,
Sitting on the sidelines
Requires patience and a strong mind,
To acquire knowledge, one must study; But to acquire wisdom, one must observe,
My time will come,
But for now, I’ll keep hope on the sidelines
I have never been the most popular guy anywhere, so this poem scraches the surface to that
