Willie’s in the Corner

“Willie’s in the corner!”
My mother lets me know,
Willie wants to get out,
Or so he thinks so,
“Willie don’t bite the curtains”
“Willie don’t chew the sofa”...
If Willie wasn’t so cute,
He’s be on the first bus,
To Oklahoma en route,
Willie gets away with murder,
His phoney smile & innocent face,
Has helped him find a place,
Gives him grace,
Willie I fear runs this house,
He needs no Pardon;
Father on the other hand
Could use a little of Willie’s wile,
Compared to Willie he is a guest,
No longer in command,
He pleads for Willie’s leftovers,
He sleeps on the floor,
He knows not to ask for more
About Willie he detests,
Would send him packing,
No distaste in him lacking
But Willie is too cagey
To leave his warm nest,
Father will have to be happy
Compared to Willie who is blessed
Father is second best
