Just a friend
The Golden rays illuminate his flawless skin
Prickled stubble glistens upon his merry chin
Bushy brows, fierce and bold
Outline the gaze that he does hold
Ocean pools of blue gaze at me once more
I could melt where I stand all over the floor
The perfect smile, breath taking hair
He’s so relaxed, without a care
Each night I imagine the time we would share
Our feet tattooing the sand
As we stroll along the beach, laughing hand in hand
To you I’m just a friend, convenient and always there
Sometimes I feel used, why is life so unfair
Oh how oblivious you seem
To my one and only dream
To be with you forever is all that I desire
But you do not even know how my heart is set on fire;
By your presence, by your voice
Oh if I only had a choice
I would choose to forget and cast my affection aside,
For it to be lost in this never ending tide
Yet I put on a smile and long to hold your hand,
As I once again imagine strolling upon the sand.
