The Drug You've Become

The first time I gazed into your eyes,
I felt like I was on the best of all highs.
Their were times we’ve kissed, that I recall,
It reminded me of the sweet taste of alcohol.
The first time you linked your hand with mine,
I felt the arousal of snorting my very first line.
The first time our bodies gently intertwined,
It was a rush of pure bliss;
That put me on cloud nine.
There are memories, that we share,
Which have gotten me through these long,
Lasting moments; of despair.
You’re the drug I can’t seem to kick,
You’re the addiction I let take over; too quick.
Now that you’re gone, I’m feeling insane;
An addict all alone, and no one to blame.
