What do Writers Do?
So many elitists in a beret,
sitting in cafes waiting for
a bit of inspiration that
may sometime waft their way.
Pretensions and illusions call
taking a toll on production.
Lines scratched out, paper thrown away,
until there is no writing at all.
Writing is a tough job we know.
Up at 4:00AM - to the computer,
dragging this old body to work.
For we really do reap what we sow.
I take Stephen’s words to my heart.
You want to write - just sit down
and do it, tired or not, just do it...
this is the perfect time to start.
