Our whole lives we’ve been together
from childhood we played in the sun
chasing after each other never knowing whats next
audacious and bold little teenagers
learning from each dare and bet
realizing that “cooties” was feelings
spring came with flowers
plucked for a smile
that is cherished forever
all the way to the grave
