Rose Bush

A Rose Bush

Seasons change and death follows
So vibrant that rose once was
So elegant it was swaying in the wind
Someone picking it was a must
But nay it was not

Seasons change and death follows
The petals start to fall
Losing its lively look
Just to be loved
Everything for the rose it took

Seasons change and death follows
The vines are brown
The thorns are gone
Covered in a snowy gown
Left to wither all alone…

Seasons change and death follows
New vines uproot
Gathering around that one fence
Love once again one could say
But love once again in pretense.
