“Don’t!”
We hear the crunch of the twigs in front of us,
we took for cover in fear
watching
just watching it happen before us.
Hearing the sizzling bullets pass us,
the yells of the foreign language entwined
with the now explosions that surrounded around us.
Surrounded,
completely surrounded like a deer.
We crawled and heaved ourselves up,
they are gaining onto us,
so many
so many,
our hearts falter and kicked into a jet engine
because of the extreme fear.
They became savage,
brutal
and unforgivable.
They became savage animals,
how could this happen?
We watched our men fall down quickly,
all of us were shocked and scared.
Surprise attack on us and
we failed.
We failed to see this coming,
we weren’t prepared for this.
This is the German’s true side,
sent from hell to destroy liberty,
human rights and muffled our freedom of speech.
Pity those who were captured and killed
but don’t pity for too long.
We may be surrounded and being killed left and right
but we are the ones to save our remaining men and
the people who count on us.
The children who are back home,
our wives and parents.
Stand together men,
just stand together,
they can’t get past us.
We shall fight and raise with our
strength and
courage.
Fight back.
We marched and formed back together,
stronger than ever,
pushing back the advancing Germans.
The sounds of the guns
The sounds of the shouts
and
The sound of explosions.
Death is all around us but
the hope, courage and desire
are blazing inside us.
They shall pay for this.
