Shattered Not Broken
My mind unfolds when I hear that name,
Years have passed but the pains the same.
My memory betrays me, only remembering the bad,
I still fight away them demons and smile when I’m sad.
I still recall my tears falling as I felt myself tear,
Still feels like yesterday, frozen and lying there.
Wish I could blink and delete away them days,
Everyday they haunt me and the pain still stays.
Years building my walls, In seconds they fall,
Flashes of his face, hearing echoes of his call.
A single word has made time feel too long,
History is what has made me this strong.
