A Beautiful Contradiction

I wanted to write something beautiful
Not beautiful in the way that the sunset kisses the ocean goodnight
But beautiful in the sense that when you read it your heart lurched and swelled in your chest
Not beauty such as that of new love but the type of beauty that comes the moment after rain
When the sun makes its first appearance peaking out and engulfing the dreadful grey
I wanted to write something that read throughout the years
A type of piece that left you, the reader gasping at its pages
A piece so beautiful it took your breath away and filled your lungs all at once
A piece that wasn’t just a page of scribbled down words
I wanted it to make you cry and smile all the same
I wanted it to make you feel sorrow an all its grief
Yet give closure all in the same sentence
I wanted it to be something you’d always remember
And also something you’d never forget
I wanted it to be a beautiful contradiction
But I wanted it to be the most beautiful contradiction you’d ever read
