Welcome to...

Across the waters, deep and dark
lies an abandoned amusement park.
Colours faded, crowds long gone
only the wreckless are to be drawn.

Shifting tides, waves of wonder
bright, dark skies and roars of thunder.
Welcome ashore, to your new venture
I warn you now, its a butt cheek clencher.

Puffed out chests, words of promise
blinkered sight of a doubting Thomas.
Who’ll be first on the carnival ride?
Who’ll be first to lose his pride?

Hushed whisper, swinging trapeze
wingless creatures, circle with ease.
Unseeing eyes, search darkness ahead
imagining horrors, all filled with dread.

Pushing forth, the man of fury
face to face with deathly jury.
Red mists part, truths are revealed
soul scattered over the killing field.

Screams of anguish, screams of pain
blood washed away by fiery rain.
Paths are cleared for next in line.
If it was me, I know I’d decline.

Revenge is sought by youth so blind
never at peace with tormented mind.
Charging straight in, no time for thought.
The depths of Hades, will help him rot.

Last to be standing, the giver of life
her essence bleak, and vanity, rife.
Womanly ways and arts of seduction.
Brought to her knees in total destruction.

Ferryman pulls anchor, casts adrift
time well spent on the graveyard shift.
Across the waters, deep and dark
on other sinners, he does embark.
