Yesterday I walked in the woods,
Beyond the northern stream,
Along a seldom-travelled path.
The trees were naked and still,
Their boughs bent under the weight
Of silence, and of secrets.
Standing on the riverbank
I took a sip of solitude,
Thinking only of you.
As I wandered those dim paths,
My boots dew-wet and muddied,
I did recall warmly those bittersweet days;
Learning the secrets of the heart,
Watching and yearning,
Gaining wonderful memories
At the price of my confidence.
Looking up at the darkening sky,
Deep and unreachable,
I saw a glimpse of you, far away.
That night the rabbit of the sky
Was waving to me from the moon,
As like to the song you taught me
Long ago.
